As we were making preperations to fly back to Tucson, Hurricane Simon developed into a Category 4 hurricane overnight. You can see from the overlaid pink outline of the lower Baja peninsula just how huge this hurricane was. Luckily, it deteriorated overnight to a Tropical Storm, so by the time it straddled the peninsula and headed for the mainland, it only carried heavy rains, without the wind.
