Mojarron, or Pacific Porgy (calamus brachysomus). They eat mollusks, clams, echinoderms, bottom critters, and follow schools of mantas around to scarf what the big guys kick up with their wings. Lots of porgy bones found in old native American middens near San Diego Bay, though they rarely are found there anymore.
